About This Scholarship

The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation enables highly-qualified scientists and scholars from abroad to spend extended periods of research in Germany. The Humboldt Research Fellowship is for postdoctoral researchers and allows you to work with a host institution of your own choice in Germany.

Eligibility Requirements

How to Apply

Apply online through the Humboldt Foundation portal. You must first identify a host institution and academic supervisor in Germany. The application requires a detailed research proposal, academic CV, publication list, doctoral certificate, and references from your German host and two additional referees.
